The 20 Best Pet Costumes for Halloween 2020!

While I am generally not a huge fan of dressing up your pets, Halloween is one of those times we as pet owners like to indulge in a little holiday fun. I think it’s great to do for a photo op (think Instagram or holiday cards), but keep in mind your pet might get stressed by costume wearing. In a minute, I’ll take you through my picks for The 20 Best Pet Costumes for Halloween 2020! But before we do, let’s discuss safety first.

Here are a few things to consider before buying any costume for your pet:

Sizing:

You should always measure your pet(s) prior to ordering any costume as not all fit every breed. Most quality pet product manufacturers will provide detailed information for you to measure your pet to make the best decision.

Comfort/Tolerance:

If your pets are anything like my two dogs, the best you’ll get from a costume is a fun photo op. I have one who won’t tolerate much and another who stands still like a statue when I put anything on her. To those of you whose pets DON’T fall into these categories, costumes can be fun for the both of you. Know your pet and be mindful that he/she may get stressed by the costume.

Safety:

The main takeaway I want to leave you with before we get to the shopping, is that safety is of the utmost importance. A costume that is too small will cause your pet discomfort. A costume that is too large may partially come off and create a hazardous situation. Always monitor your pets when they are dressed to the nines and remove the costume when you aren’t able to be with them.
